Welcome to Tonerikokan Dojo

Discover the ancient Japanese martial arts of Iaido and Jodo in Swindon Wiltshire, United Kingdom. Whether you are a beginner or have previous experience, our relaxed yet serious dojo welcomes you.

Our martial arts disciplines

At Tonerikokan Dojo, we specialise in two traditional Japanese martial arts. Both disciplines offer unique paths to physical and mental development.

Iaido

Iaido is a Japanese martial art associated with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking an imaginary opponent, and sheathing the sword. It focuses on precision, concentration, and harmony of mind and body.

Jodo

Jodo is the art of the short staff (jo), used to defend against a samurai sword. It emphasizes fluid movements, posture, and timing. Our training in Jodo promotes discipline and respect.

Meet the instructor

Our classes are led by Alan Lee-Nash, a highly experienced practitioner holding a 6th dan Renshi in both Iaido and Jodo. Alan's expertise and passion guide our students through their martial arts journey.
